Well it has officially been just over a week since I arrived in Japan. In a way it feels like it went by so fast but I know that wasn't true most days. Here is just a recap of what happened during that time.
At the airport at 5am going through security I wanted to cry because my mom and dad were seeing me off and I don't know when I will be able to buy a ticket to come see them again. It might be a year or almost 2 before I can hug my mommy and dad and I cant forget my baby pumpkin. (Just thinking about it is bringing tears to my eyes) So lets change the subject. After a 2 hr delay for the flight to Japan, I met a really nice doctor on the plane who was going back to visit his family in Manila. We talked about books, dreams, YouTube videos...so it was a good wait. Luckily I was able to sleep through the majority of the flight and learned that requesting a healthier meal isn't a good idea since it is even worse than the meals they give you originally. I thought it would be better but that was my mistake.
Then at 7:30pm on Aug 19th I finally arrived and met my Trainer Chris and another very exuberant personality ALT where we then walked to the hotel from the station. Thank God for my rolling bag because I would not have made it without its support.
The next day I woke up bright and early and went back to the station to take the train to the city I an now living in - Kasugai. I was perfectly fine until I thought 'I am at the wrong exit' and proceeded to take my bags down the stairs only to realize I shouldn't have done that. Noe, because I packed one of my carry-on bags into both of the larger ones they were now around 60lbs each. While tripping over myself a nice Japanese guy took pity on me and helped me with one of the bags. Thank God for that. I did strain my back from that mistake but now it is all better!
Then I met a man (Sorry cant remember his name) who thankfully had a car and took me and my bags to my apartment where he turned on everything and went over all the paperwork. He also took me to get some basic necessities but it seemed he wasn't well versed in the area even though he lives here since he had no idea where 100 yen stores (like $1 stores only better) and the nearest grocery store would be. Luckily, the Internet took 5 minutes to get setup rather than 1-2 days so I was able to go out the next day and buy food, go to the 100 yen store, and get some small appliances.
Super exhausting time but I was happy to be setup in my area. Then I began the daunting task of unpacking and making a mess which I am still working on cleaning up...much better than this morning but I will take pics and post them later on this week. My next post will be on the training I had to participate in so look forward to that ok!!!

God, I remember your horrible suitcase, which I had to take up this neverending stairs in Motoyama.
Hi my name is Dia, I'm from Minnesota as well and Youa recommended your blog for me! ^_^ I was wondering if it's alright if I can ask you a few questions? Youa told me that your in the Interac program for teaching English abroad in Japan and I was thinking of applying for it. However there are somethings I'm concerned about and that is mainly the airfare and housing payments. Will Interac pay for my flight there or will that have to come out of my own pocket and do you get free housing plan or is there a payment that we have to put down?
BTW thank you for having this blog It's super cute ^o^ I hope its ok with you if I can come to you with my questions about the program!
